Importing only files

Kronodoc supports importing files for which no document metadata is available. The files may exist in multiple folders.

Although this method of import is simple and can be used in a wide variety of situations, due to the lack of metadata, importing files this way has certain limitations:

Tip    If you require more control over the import of the files, consider creating a KRONOCSV file to import the files as described in Importing only documents and files.

This import method uses a compressed archive file in ZIP format to contain the files to import. The ZIP file also defines the destination folders of the imported files. Each folder in the ZIP file is also created in the Kronodoc destination folder and every file in the ZIP folders creates one document in the corresponding folder. In other words, the content of the ZIP file is duplicated in the Kronodoc destination folder.

To import only files from a ZIP file:

Before you begin

Create a ZIP file that contains the folders and files that you want to import into the Kronodoc destination folder. Do not use a ZIP file that was created by Kronodoc; they are not compatible with this command.

  1. View the property page of the parent folder into which you want to import the ZIP file. The current folder will be the parent folder of the imported folders.
  2. On the ribbon, in the Import/Export group, click Zip-import. A page appears showing the available import options appears.
  3. Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.
